About the Role
We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to join our DevOps team to manage an on-premise infrastructure with the opportunity to expand into automation and CI/CD over time.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, sysadmin tasks)
- Basic Linux administration (user management, logs, troubleshooting)
- Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls)
- Security best practices (patching, hardening, access control)
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (e.g. PRTG, Grafana, Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix)
- Troubleshooting and maintaining servers based on monitoring data
- Basic Git knowledge (commits, branching, pull requests)
- Scripting ability (eg PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Monitor infrastructure health, review logs and investigate alerts
- Maintain and document on-premise servers and virtual machines
- Plan and assist with OS upgrades, maintenance and lifecycle management for internal infrastructure
- Manage patching, updates and security compliance for servers
- Review and maintain Active Directory, including user access and domain configurations
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with VMware and vSphere administration
- Exposure to automation and CI/CD concepts
- Experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos)
- Interest in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals
