We are looking for a motivated and passionate Automated Test Engineer with a solid foundation and experience in test automation.
As the role is initially a hybrid your day-to-day tasks will vary depending on the project’s requirements. You will at times be required to work as a manual tester to support to project deadlines; however, you will also be a large part of the Automation team, creating and developing automated tests and delivering your own regression suites to support Optix continuous integration workflow.
Hours of work: Flexitime available, core hours of 10am – 3pm Monday – Friday must be worked, and you must work 37.5 hours per week.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven javascript knowledge and experience
- Experience using test automation frameworks, ideally Cypress or Playwright, to write automated e2e test suites
- Experience working with javascript frameworks and libraries, ideally React but exposure to other frameworks such as Angular, VueJS is fine
- Experience working with RESTful API’s and GraphQL using tools such as Postman to query to verify responses
- Experience with GIT source control
- Experience using workflow management software such as TFS, JIRA, Azure DevOps
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience writing test scripts in BDD
- Strong manual testing experience in Web, Mobile and API testing
- Functional, integration and regression testing
- Solid understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle
- Ability to manage your own workload and deadlines
- Ability to look beyond the UI for Bugs and potential issues
- A curiosity for new technologies and techniques and actively keeping yourself up to date
The ideal candidate will have (by no means essential):
- Experience working with multiple API’s and services within a microservice architecture
- Exposure to Docker
- Exposure to maintaining automation test scripts
- Working with database to query and verify data, i.e. SQL
- Ability to design automated test suites
- Have an interest or experience in performance testing and other non-functional testing activities
