After a whole year of indecision over which new computer system to install in our practice, in August 2012 I finally decide to install Optix because I liked the idea of a system that is constantly updated, providing constant support and constant offsite backup of data using the latest cloud Read more system.
I also liked the idea that there is no long term contract and that Optix provides the appropriate hardware and Internet connection. It really is a one stop shop.
The initial installation, was smooth and trouble free, support has been fantastic even though early on we were calling several times a day with the most trivial problems. The fact that they can remotely access your computer and take you through the system is extremely effective. All the staff at Optix are very knowledgeable and whoever you speak to is able to guide you.
So far I have been very happy with the software, all the team find it very easy to use and new members of staff need very minimal training to use it. NHS reconciliation and the till/BI modules work very well for us. I have gained on the monthly NHS returns because we can easily cross check the number of GOS forms that have to be submitted and nothing gets lost!
I am looking forward to moving on to phase 2 where we will utilise some of the modules that we do not yet use such as full dispensing and contact lenses.

It is the fourth practice management system that we have used over the last twenty years, and in every respect is vastly superior to its predecessors. The scale and flexibility of the system is immense, and in many respects we still only Read more scratch the surface of its capabilities. The learning process is made easier by the most helpful, competent and friendly support team that I have ever encountered in my thirty years in optics. I must also commend the MD, Trevor Rowley, for the principled and straightforward manner with which he conducts his business.
